The Science Department announces the holding of the Science Fair in accordance to the 2009 National Science Club Month Celebration.
The Science Fair is an annual activity that aims to promote science and technology consciousness among the students, through the exhibition of science research projects, jingle making contest, quiz bee, water rocket launching, Sci-Dama and other science related activities. Ultimately, it seeks to identify the best and the most creative among the science-inclined and technology-conscious students of Valenzuela City Science High School.
This year’s Science Fair theme is "Adapting to diverse science culture for development." which will be highlighted on September 25, 2009 at the school quadrangle through various science activities. Winners from each activity will receive medals, trophies and cash prizes (SIP and Science Jingle). First place winners from sci-dama, collage and painting contest will represent the school in the upcoming Congressional Science Fair on September 15, 2009 at Dalandanan National high School.
OBJECTIVES
GENERAL:
·To provide an effective medium in the development of science and technology consciousness among the students of Valenzuela City – Public High Schools and promote public understanding and appreciation of scientific breakthroughs
·To improve the quality of science and technology education in the community
SPECIFIC:
·To encourage research and development among the students
·To undertake scientific activities that will develop the students creativity, analytical mind and integrity
·To disseminate and apply learned science and technology concepts and principles
·To identify and give recognition to outstanding students-researchers
·To provide a venue for intellectual and social interaction among participants and Science & Technology experts
·To create an atmosphere of competitiveness and excellence in undertaking scientific activities and toward achieving breakthroughs in research
MISSION
It shall direct its effort to provide the best possible resource to enhance student academic performance, broaden the student scheme through exposure to an enriched learning curriculum, enhances the level of understanding and awareness of students towards the rapid scientific and technological advances and to foster among students problem solving approach of critical thinking
VISION
It is envisioned to provide opportunities to intellectually promising students with an enriched secondary education curriculum conformable to the educational mandate “to encourage critical and creative thinking and broaden scientific technological knowledge"
